3720 is a single tapered roller bearing cup (outer ring) in the imperial 3700 series. This cup is also cross-referenced under the part number 4T-3720 and is interchangeable with other manufacturers’ 3720 cups. Refer to manufacturer documentation to confirm compatibility with your specific application.
This cup is the outer raceway component of a tapered roller bearing assembly, designed to seat in a housing bore and accept a matching cone (inner ring) assembly. The outside diameter is 3.6718 inches (93.264 mm) and the cup width is 0.9375 inches (23.812 mm). Compatible cones include 3767, 3775, 3776, 3777, 3778, 3780, 3781, and 3782. The ring is manufactured from case-hardened alloy steel to AISI 52100 grade, providing high fatigue resistance under combined radial and thrust loads. Housing maximum fillet radius is 0.13 inches (3.3 mm).
This cup is a separable component sold individually without a cone. Operating temperature range is -40°F to 250°F (-40°C to 121°C). The cup is typically press-fit into the housing bore and should be replaced together with its mating cone to maintain optimal load distribution and bearing life.
